Celebrate Recovery is a 12-step program that is different than traditional programs because it is based on the Higher Power of Jesus and where the steps are correlated with His teachings using scriptural references. It is a bridge for millions who are familiar with 12-step secular programs but who need the infusion of Jesus in their working of the steps.

Celebrate Recovery is based on God’s Word, the Bible, and it is forward looking so that persons are not stuck in their past. The program emphasizes personal responsibility and a spiritual commitment to Jesus. It uses biblical truths to help us see that we need each other in order to grow both emotionally and spiritually, where scripture leadings and the love of Jesus develop in us those necessary changes on an individual basis; therefore, problems are not limited. It helps all of us who struggle with hurts, hang-ups, and habits including but not limited to alcoholism, divorce, abuses of all kinds, co-dependency, domestic violence, rage, drug addiction, mental health, sexual addiction, food addictions, physical struggles or disease, and death of a loved one. Finally, it is also a pathway to leadership within this ministry with training and the achievement of milestones in recovery; whereas, the responsibilities on the individual can transition with time and where their willingness aspires into helping others similar to themselves. The Celebrate Recovery program also focuses the lessons using eight recovery principles based on the Sermon on the Mount and the Beatitudes.

This program was founded in cooperation with Dr. Rick Warren, Senior Pastor at Saddleback Church, where John Baker developed the program because he struggled with addiction. Learn more about Celebrate Recovery here.
